call this the watching and learning edition.
definitely inspired by my small amount of marching and a lot of looking out the window of the van as i deliver CSA produce during this time of "fed up with the status quo", curfews, and maybe some real change this time.
crisis gives you permission to make changes.
i saw that on a post-it note on my wife's console. look. listen. learn. march. say it out loud so we realize that we always have permission to change...

Pt 1 is a one take improvisation. inspired by the cadences and scenes of the marches. insert your own chants...

Pt 2 is a great filet. originally it was built around a long driving rhythmic loop. i decided to do a take on the kit using bundles for a little flavor in the background. some ear treats and the occcasional acoustic reinforcements. when i took away the loop so i could mix the drum kit, i remembered something from my oblique strategies cards...destroy something precious. so i yanked the bones right outta that fish and it tasted better. the piece communicated better. just like a america. we have a pretty nice house but its built on white supremacy. i bet we could remove that part of our house. rip out those bones and not only is the house standing taller, its starting to look beautiful...
